“Transformative”: the first episode of a journey through the Nbs

“TRANSFORMATIVE”, is the podcast of the Horizon project “TRANS-lighthouses” that explores Nature-based solutions on a journey through the European Union to discover cities, territories and communities that are engaging to find innovative and inclusive responses to climate challenges. The guides on this journey are researchers, teachers, public administrators and students who are part of projects that are transforming the way we live and interact with the environment.

In this first episode both our destinations are islands with different challenges. Our journey begins in the Mediterranean Sea, in Cyprus, not so far from the capital city Nicosia, in the municipality of Strovolos, where the local pilot case is focused on the Pedieos River Linear Park, addressing biodiversity and flood risks. Then we travel across the North-East Atlantic to São Miguel Island, in the Azores, where the pilot case is aimed to diversify and revitalize local ecosystems in the Janela do Inferno Natural Trail.
